Miniature Traction Group

Welcome to the Miniature Traction Group website. The MTG is a small band of 71/4" gauge locomotive owners who have grouped together to enjoy and share there hobby. Between them there are 1 diesel, 1 petrol, 3 battery-electric and an battery- electric railcar for good measure! The idea of the group is to assist each other in maintanence, advice, loco visits to other railways and social events. The group also operates an 'open access' policy for the use of each others locos. It is our eventual aim is to base all our loco's and stock at the same place on a new or exsisting 71/4" gauge railway in the South. **LATEST NEWS**......... ............ 17-5-09. A plan is being drawn up to return D7096 to Traffic, At present access to the loco is very limited due to the loco being stored by a friend of a friend so we are putting together a working party plan to suit all parties. Once the repairs and completion work is done we intend to move the locomotive to Woking miniature railway to where it will be based. I will have a running day at least once a month, aswell as visit other railways this year. Our intention is to have 7096 working again by early July. ******* RUNNING DATES ADDED***********

LOCOMOTIVE STATUS

BO-BO BE 'No 5'. Now operational.

BO-BO DH 'Class 35 D7096' . Stored in a private location.

4WD PH 'Remus'. Under construction.

RAILCAR BE 'L.E.V 6'. Private location under going a re-paint and minor repairs.

RUNNING DATES 2009

5th July 2009, D7096. Swanley New Barn Railway, Swanley, Kent. 11am-6pm.

3rd October 2009, D7096 Eastliegh Lakeside Railway Diesel Gala.
